AIXTRON SE Sees Strong Q3, Orders Surge 121%

AIXTRON SE shares rebounded after a strong Q3 performance that exceeded analyst expectations for both order intake and operational profitability, reversing some losses from a wider tech sector downturn.

The company announced a preliminary Q3 order intake of approximately €275 million, a substantial 121% increase compared to the €124.0 million recorded in Q3 2025. This surge is driven by robust demand for equipment used in laser applications for AI datacenter communication, according to CEO Felix Grawert. While the company maintains its full-year 2026 guidance, analysts at JPMorgan anticipate a slight upward revision to profitability expectations for the year, anticipating consensus estimates for revenue and earnings growth in 2027 will be adjusted upward.

The positive momentum is also reflected in increased investor activity; JPMorgan Chase & Co. has increased its stake to 6.31% of voting rights as of October 13, 2026. This increased holding, comprised of direct share ownership and various instruments, signals growing confidence in AIXTRON’s prospects. Analysts at MPCM upgraded the stock to “Buy” from “Hold,” while Deutsche Bank Research maintained a “Hold” rating with a revised price target.

Despite the positive outlook, JPMorgan notes that the unchanged full-year guidance suggests a potentially weaker gross margin in the final quarter due to a less favorable product mix. However, the strong order intake provides increased visibility and strengthens the company's business prospects for 2027. The acceleration of order intake implies 2027 revenue significantly above current market expectations, according to Jefferies analyst Om Bakhda.

The reported surge in Q3 order intake, coupled with increased investor confidence signaled by JPMorgan’s stake increase, demonstrates a positive shift in momentum for AIXTRON SE. This performance positions the company to benefit from the growing demand for laser technology within the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure market.
