Bank of Beijing H1 2026 Profit Rises 5.63% YoY to RMB 15.9B

Bank of Beijing’s net profit attributable to shareholders reached RMB 15.90 billion for the first half of 2026, a 5.63% increase compared to the RMB 15.05 billion reported in the same period last year. This growth was supported by a 5.60% year-over-year increase in operating revenue, which totaled RMB 38.25 billion. Operating profit also rose, increasing by 8.42% to RMB 18.79 billion.

The bank’s total assets stood at RMB 4.74 trillion as of June 30, 2026, representing a slight decrease of 3.95% from the end of 2025. Loans and advances reached RMB 2.40 trillion, a modest 0.10% increase from year-end 2025. Deposits grew at a stronger pace, reaching RMB 2.82 trillion, up 4.64% from the end of 2025. The bank maintained strong capital adequacy ratios, with a core tier-1 capital adequacy ratio of 8.91% and a capital adequacy ratio of 14.10% as of June 30, 2026.

Asset quality remained relatively stable. The non-performing loan ratio was 1.30% at the end of the reporting period, slightly up from 1.29% at the end of 2025. The loan loss provision coverage ratio stood at 199.59%, indicating a robust capacity to absorb potential credit losses. The bank’s net interest margin remained relatively stable, at 1.23%.

The bank also announced a proposed interim dividend of RMB 1.30 per 10 shares, subject to shareholder approval. The bank’s return on assets (ROA) was 0.66% and return on equity (ROE) was 10.60% for the first half of 2026, slightly down from 0.67% and 10.64% respectively in the first half of 2025. The slight decline in profitability ratios coincides with a broader slowdown in China’s economic growth and a more competitive banking landscape characterized by narrowing net interest margins and increased regulatory scrutiny.
