BYD September Vehicle Sales Dip 3.94% Year-Over-Year
BYD Company reported a 3.94% year-over-year decrease in new energy vehicle sales for September 2026, totaling 463,561 units. Total production volume for the month also declined, falling 2.32% to 463,864 units compared to September 2025.
Year-to-date, new energy vehicle sales reached 3,131,576 units, a decrease from the 3,260,146 units recorded in the same period last year. This decline was largely driven by a 10.19% drop in plug-in hybrid electric vehicle sales year-to-date. Battery electric vehicle sales showed a modest 1.50% increase year-to-date, reaching 1,629,957 units. The company reported 180,700 units in export volume for new energy vehicles in September 2026.
Commercial vehicle sales, including buses and other vehicles, increased by 28.46% in September, reaching 6,848 units. Despite this increase, overall sales were impacted by the decline in passenger vehicle sales, particularly plug-in hybrids. The disclosed figures are unaudited and subject to adjustment.
