CITIC Corp Reports RMB 90.87B Net Profit for Nine Months 2026

CITIC Corporation Limited announced a net profit of RMB 90.87 billion for the nine months ending September 30, 2026, a 9.4% increase from the RMB 83.39 billion reported in the same period of the previous year. The results, disclosed in an unaudited financial statement released October 30, 2026, are required due to the company’s issuance of commercial paper in China.

Operating income for the period reached RMB 305.697 billion, a 4.3% year-on-year increase from RMB 293.499 billion. Total assets grew to RMB 13.04 trillion, up from RMB 12.54 trillion at the end of 2025, while total liabilities rose to RMB 11.66 trillion, compared to RMB 11.23 trillion at year-end 2025. These figures indicate continued expansion in the scale of CITIC Corporation’s operations.

The company’s consolidated balance sheet as of September 30, 2026, shows RMB 980.11 billion in cash and deposits, an increase from the RMB 971.62 billion held at the end of December 2025. Loans and advances to customers, a key indicator of lending activity, increased to RMB 5.90 trillion, up from RMB 5.77 trillion at year-end. Investments in financial assets also saw growth, with financial assets held for trading reaching RMB 1.66 trillion.

From a cash flow perspective, operating activities generated RMB 432.24 billion in cash, while investing activities used RMB 3.70 billion. Financing activities resulted in a net cash inflow of RMB 1.75 billion. These figures demonstrate a healthy cash generation capacity from core operations. The company’s cash and cash equivalents stood at RMB 880.78 billion as of September 30, 2026, up from RMB 745.23 billion at the end of 2025.

The reported increase in net profit alongside growth in assets and lending activities positions CITIC Corporation as a continuing major player in China’s financial landscape. The company's performance aligns with broader positive trends in the Chinese financial sector, although the uneven distribution of growth across different financial subgroups, as seen in recent Q2 earnings, suggests a complex operating environment.
