CITIC Securities Q3 Profit Surges 18% to RMB 31.78 Billion

CITIC Securities delivered a strong third-quarter performance, with net profit reaching RMB 31.78 billion for the nine months ending September 30, 2026, an 18% increase compared to RMB 24.14 billion in the same period last year. This growth was underpinned by a substantial increase in total operating revenue, which climbed to RMB 66.59 billion, up from RMB 56.15 billion in the prior year.

The primary driver of revenue growth was net fee and commission income, which increased to RMB 32.63 billion from RMB 24.56 billion. Within this category, brokerage fees rose significantly to RMB 14.73 billion, while investment banking fees reached RMB 5.12 billion and asset management fees amounted to RMB 10.87 billion. Investment income also contributed substantially, reaching RMB 17.98 billion, a significant shift from a loss of RMB 424.24 million in the comparable period last year. Net interest income also saw a notable increase, more than quadrupling to RMB 3.22 billion.

Assets under management at ChinaAMC, in which CITIC Securities holds a stake, reached RMB 2,860.79 billion as of September 30, 2026. The company’s balance sheet reflected expanded assets, growing to RMB 2,350.07 trillion from RMB 2,081.90 trillion at the end of 2025. Total liabilities also increased, reaching RMB 1,976.47 trillion compared to RMB 1,756.08 trillion.

Cash flows from operating activities remained robust, with a net inflow of RMB 126.78 billion, while financing activities generated a net inflow of RMB 54.09 billion. The company’s cash and cash equivalents position strengthened to RMB 688.43 billion at the end of the reporting period.

The reported increase in net profit and operating revenue demonstrates CITIC Securities’ continued growth trajectory. The surge in investment income, coupled with the expansion of fee-based businesses, points to a favorable operating environment. The increase in both assets and liabilities reflects the company’s expanding business activities and financing needs, necessitating continued monitoring of asset quality and risk management practices.
