NORMA Group Targets Profitability with Strategic Shift, Dividend Cut

NORMA Group AG is pivoting towards increased profitability, announcing a strategy targeting an EBIT margin above 10% by 2031, according to a release on October 19th. This comes alongside a planned reduction in dividend payouts, a move that immediately impacted investor sentiment, causing the stock price to fall by approximately 2.3%.

The company projects average revenue growth of 1-3% between 2026 and 2031, currency effects excluded. Preliminary figures for the third quarter of 2026 show revenue of €207.8 million and an operating margin of 3.7%. The company has reaffirmed its 2026 guidance, anticipating stagnation or up to 2% growth in revenue, with an adjusted operating profit margin of 2-4%.

This strategic shift includes a restructuring of the company’s global production and location network, with plans to consolidate production in Mexico and streamline operations in Europe. NORMA Group previously closed two plants in China and intends to cut approximately 400 jobs worldwide by 2028. These measures are projected to generate an additional €20-30 million in EBIT annually starting in 2031. The company aims to reduce annual operating costs by €70-90 million by 2031 through organizational simplification and process automation.

From 2027, NORMA Group plans to distribute a minimum of 10% of its adjusted consolidated net income to shareholders, with potential share buybacks also under consideration. This represents a decrease from the previous payout ratio of 30-35%. The move reflects a recalibration of capital allocation, prioritizing reinvestment in the business and margin improvement over higher direct returns to investors.

These changes occur as NORMA Group refocuses on automotive manufacturers and industrial customers following the sale of its water management business. The firm’s efforts to improve efficiency and profitability are underway, with the full Q3 2026 results scheduled for release on November 3rd. The company's strategic realignments and cost-cutting measures come as it navigates a period of restructuring and seeks to deliver sustained profitability improvements.
