OHB SE has acquired a 25% stake in MediaMobil Communication GmbH through a capital increase, a move designed to bolster its capabilities in the rapidly evolving satellite communications sector. The strategic partnership, announced October 26, 2026, builds upon a collaborative relationship initiated in 2020 focused on developing launch solutions from the North Sea.

The investment signifies OHB’s commitment to expanding its presence across the entire satellite communications value chain. MediaMobil specializes in mobile communications and connectivity solutions, providing technologies for challenging environments like disaster areas and remote maritime locations. This aligns with OHB’s broader strategy, articulated in a prior announcement on August 13, 2026, to strengthen its position as a leading European space and technology company and capitalize on growing investments in the space, security, and defense sectors.

According to OHB CEO Marco Fuchs, the proximity and complementary expertise of the two Bremen-based companies were key factors in the decision.
