Rakuten Securities Q3 Profit Surges 100% to ¥28.58 Billion

Rakuten Securities, a key subsidiary of Rakuten Group, announced a significant surge in profitability for the third quarter of its fiscal year 2026, posting a net profit of ¥28.58 billion, a 100.0% increase compared to the ¥14.36 billion reported in the same period last year. This substantial increase in profit was underpinned by a 47.7% jump in operating revenue, which reached ¥165.98 billion, up from ¥112.34 billion in the prior year.

The brokerage reported a pure operating profit of ¥148.23 billion, up 41.7% year-over-year, and an operating profit of ¥55.09 billion, a substantial increase from ¥29.52 billion the previous year. Ordinary profit also rose sharply, reaching ¥55.20 billion compared to ¥29.33 billion in the corresponding period of 2025. The strong performance was driven by increases in commission revenue and trading gains.

The financial results indicate a robust period for Rakuten Securities, with notable increases across key revenue streams. Commission revenue rose to ¥24.22 billion from ¥18.07 billion, while trading gains increased to ¥74.34 billion from ¥45.27 billion. The company’s financial position remains strong, with total assets reaching ¥5.12 trillion as of September 30, 2026, compared to ¥5.44 trillion at the end of the previous fiscal year.

These results arrive amidst a broader market environment where premium segments are experiencing growth, though sector performance remains uneven, and increased corporate disputes are driving demand for legal services. Rakuten Securities' strong performance suggests it is capitalizing on favorable trends within the financial services sector, demonstrating significant improvements in both revenue generation and profitability compared to the previous year.
