SGX and VNX Partner to Explore Depository Receipt Linkage

Singapore Exchange (SGX) and Vietnam Exchange (VNX) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on October 1, 2026, to explore establishing a Depository Receipt (DR) linkage between the two markets. This collaboration builds on a 2024 agreement focused on DR collaboration and aims to deepen capital market ties between Singapore and Vietnam.

The proposed DR linkage will allow investors in each market to access companies listed on the other exchange through locally traded instruments. SGX and VNX will jointly assess the framework and operational requirements for the initiative. Officials from both countries’ regulatory bodies—the State Securities Commission of Vietnam and the Monetary Authority of Singapore—witnessed the signing, signaling a bilateral commitment to increased investment opportunities.

SGX CEO Loh Boon Chye stated that strengthening regional connectivity is central to supporting the development of ASEAN’s capital markets. VNX Chairman Luong Hai Sinh echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the potential for new capital-raising channels. The exchanges will now proceed with technical discussions to determine implementation pathways.
