Shionogi Raises FY2027 Forecast, Announces Interim Dividend Increase
Shionogi Co., Ltd. (TSE: 4507) announced a substantial upward revision of its FY2027 earnings forecast and a concurrent increase to its interim dividend, signaling strong financial performance and positive momentum across key business segments. The company now projects revenue of ¥720 billion, a 2.9% increase from its prior expectation, and operating profit of ¥230 billion, a 4.5% increase.
The improved outlook stems from robust performance in several areas, including its ALS treatment RADICAVA, infectious disease products, and HIV therapies. Recent acquisitions, notably the acquisition of IntraBio, and investments are also contributing to the positive results. The company’s overseas operations, particularly the successful integration of the ViiV Healthcare business and the expansion of its presence in China, are key drivers of growth. Specifically, the launch and uptake of Cabenuva and Apretude—long-acting injectable HIV treatments—have boosted royalty income and equity method profits.
Alongside the revenue boost, Shionogi announced an increased interim dividend of ¥40 per share, up from ¥38 previously, and a projected full-year dividend of ¥86 per share, representing a ¥15 increase over the prior year. This marks the 15th consecutive year of dividend increases, underscoring the company’s commitment to returning value to shareholders. The company attributes the dividend increase to the successful execution of its growth strategy and the strengthening of its revenue base and cash flow.
These results reflect a significant recovery from prior periods; the company's FY2026 results were ¥499.677 billion in revenue and ¥170.306 billion in operating profit. While the company continues to invest in research and development and navigate integration costs associated with recent acquisitions, the current trajectory demonstrates a strengthening financial position and a clear focus on delivering sustained shareholder value.
